To the Editor:

The (ECWCD) East County Water Control District board voted on Aug. 30 to rent one half of a not needed office building for $3,000 per month added to the $1,700 per month rent for their current mobile home offices which comes to $4,700 a month for a staff of eight employees. Because the purchase of the less than a million dollar building cannot be locked in before election day. A contract was entered into to buy in January except that a new board will be elected in November and members are not likely to be interested in adding a $7 million debt.
