Eileen J. Maederer

Eileen J. Maederer, 82, of Lehigh Acres, died Saturday, Sept. 4 2010 of natural causes. She was born in Norway, MI to Isador and Rosalie Guiliani on May 6, 1928.

She is survived by sons, Paul and Bruce along with several other family members.

Maederer upon graduating from high school had wanted to join a nunnery but needed to stay home to care for an ailing family member.

She later worked as a legal and medical assistant in Milwaukee, Wisc. In the 1970s, she became the president of The American Association of Medical Assistants and was able to visit William Proxmire, a U.S. senator from Wisconsin, while on a trip to Washington, D.C.

She dedicated her life to caring for her husband, Carl and three sons.

A Last Supper in her honor was held on Wednesday, Sept. 8 with family members.
