The Community Council of Lehigh Acres will hold an election in November. There are seven seats up for election to a three-year term on the Community Council.

Applications for nominees are now being accepted, said Damon Shelor, the council’s president.

Application and petition forms may be obtained by visiting the Council’s website at www.LehighCouncil.com .

These forms are also available in hard copy at the Lehigh Chamber of Commerce at Towne Center on Homestead Road or LA Insurance on Lee Blvd.

To qualify, an applicant must have lived at least one year in Lehigh Acres, Shelor said.

Community Council meetings are open to the public. The Council meets on the third Monday each month at Living Waters Fellowship Church on Sunshine Blvd.

The deadline for applying is October 15, 2010, Shelor said.

The Petition Form, which must accompany the application, requires signatures of 20 Lehigh Acre residents and must be completed to be valid. Requests for more information can be obtained by email at election.and.bylaws.chair@lehighcouncil.com.
