Applauds treatment at lehigh Regional Medical Center
To the Editor:
This is not the first time I have espoused the quality of care I have received at Lehigh Regional; yet I still hear derogatory remarks made about our fine local hospital.
Both my mother-in-law and I have been hospitalized by Dr. Avey, Dr. Richardson, Dr. Ahmad, and Dr. Tucker over the past few years and have always experienced complete professionalism and personal care by the entire staff. Many times I know the nurses have gone out of their way to do the little things that make a patient’s life bearable.
I have recently received 42 days of an antibiotic by infusion. I.M.A. wanted the infusion done at their new facility in Fort Myers, but we had it change to Lehigh because of the driving involved in making the trip every day. I especially want to thank the dedicated nurses at Wound Care.
From the moment I checked in with Marco (very friendly, helpful and conscientious) Debra took over and scheduled the PICC, and between her and Johandra I had two excellent nurses taking care of my infusion and my comfort during the 1 hours I had to allow for the drip.
I have macular degeneration and am unable to drive into the city and my wife really didn’t want to fight the Fort Myers traffic. We are both senior citizens and having an excellent facility in Lehigh is wonderful; a different situation than when we moved here 25 years ago (before traffic lights in town).
Regardless of the occasional negativity from picky patients, we have every right to be proud of Lehigh Regional Medical Center and the excellent services it provides.
