Lehigh Elks to hold golf tourney Sept. 25
The Lehigh Acres Elks Lodge No. 2602 will hold its 13th annual Golf Tournament on Sept. 25 at Mirror Lakes Golf Club. Registration is 8 a.m. with shotgun following. Price is $40 per golfer and $30 for Mirror Lakes members, who must present membership card. Lunch is $10 The proceeds from the gold tournament helps to send children to camp.

Church celebrates Open House Oct. 2
New Image Ministries is celebrating its third annual Open House. This is a free community event open to the public. The event will be held on Saturday, ?October 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., located at 29 Homestead Rd., just before Veterans Park on the lefthand side in Lehigh Acres. ?It will be a fun day for the family. There will be a bounce house, face ?painting and popcorn. Kreegel aide to be in Lehigh library
Rep. Paige V. Kreegel (D-72) will have a member of his staff at the East County Regional Library on Sept. 23 and again on Thursday, Oct. 28 to answer questions about any state related issues that local citizens may have. Rummage sale to benefit church
A rummage sale will be held Saturday, September 25 from 7 to 11 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 1430 Homestead Road, Lehigh Acres (corner of Homestead Road and Lee Blvd).

Bus to provide trip to Steelers game at Tampa Bay on Sept. 26
Fun Biz Charter in Lehigh is planning a bus ride from Majestic Golf Club on Sunday, Sept. 26 at 8:30 a.m.
“We going to the Steelers game at Tampa Bay,” said Steve Baker, owner of the Fun Biz Charter bus.
Continental breakfast, tail gate party, drinks, snacks, ticket for the game with great seats, Baker says, and a fun bus party fide will be provide for $150 per seat and that includes tickets.
“We’re taking you to the Steelers/Tampa Bay football game. Egyptian dinner dance set at the Elks
An Egyptian dinner dance with entertainment is planned for Saturday, Oct. 2 at the Lehigh Acres Elks Lodge at 1050 Joel Blvd. in Lehigh. There will be prizes given away, said Bobbie Slanker, a spokeswoman with the Lodge. Everyone who attends is encouraged to dress as an Egyptian, Slanker said.

State beekeepers group to meets in October
The Beekeepers Association of Southwest has announced its 2010 Florida State Beekeepers Association Annual Convention will be held in Southwest Florida.
The Convention will be held at the Estero Community Park, Estero on Friday and Saturday October 29 and 30. Seminars and vendors will be in the Park Recreation Center and on the Park Grounds. For more details, see swfbees.com.
Women’s Club holds annual luncheon in October
The General Women’s Club of Lehigh Acres will hold its annual luncheon and card party and game day on Saturday, Oct. 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church’s Sweatlock Hall at 705 Leeland Heights Blvd. in Lehigh.

Medicine Shoppe to offer flu shots
Flu shots are available on two dates at the Medicine Shoppe at 57 Homestead Rd. N. on Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and again on Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 pm.
Abdel Aryan, who operates the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy, said Lehigh residents can get their flu vaccinations at the Medicne Shoppe as they have done in years past.
