Search on for man who caused $10,000 damage to ATM

Lee County deputies are searching for a man who tried to make a withdrawal by trashing an ATM.
At approximately 11:30 p.m. on September 20, deputies were sent to TIB Bank at 17000 Alico Commerce Court. The responding deputy saw a male suspect striking the ATM. When the suspect saw the deputy, he ran westbound toward an open field. Back up units arrived and set up a perimeter. K-9 and Aviation responded to the scene and searched, but the suspect was not located.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, 170 pounds with brown hair. The suspect was wearing a dark shirt and gray pants with a stripe on the side.
Bank officials estimate damage to the ATM to be at least $10,000.
