A traffic stop Wednesday night led to an arrest and the confiscation of three firearms, cocaine, marijuana and more than 300 prescription pills.
Members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office were conducting undercover surveillance at the 7-Eleven located at Nicholas Parkway and Pine Island Road at about 10 p.m. when they observed a suspected drug transaction between a woman in a parked vehicle and a man, later identified as Jordan Lombardy.
According to a police report, detectives watched as Lombardy entered a vehicle and exited the station, heading westbound on Pine Island Road. They followed and conducted a traffic stop. When deputies activated their lights, three plastic bags were seen thrown from Lombardy’s passenger window.
Lombardy reportedly told the detectives that he was on probation and was driving with a suspended license. He apologized and stated that his girlfriend, the front seat passenger in the vehicle, could drive to his house a few blocks away. A K-9 Unit arrived and reportedly alerted to the presence of drugs.
Authorities recovered the tossed bags, which contained a total of 43.7 grams of powder cocaine, 49 Oxycodone pills, 10 Lorazepam pills and two Ambien pills. According to the report, Lombardy and his girlfriend were questioned and Lombardy agreed to let detectives search his home.
They conducted a search of the residence and found 90 Oxycodone pills, 69 Ambien pills, 65 Xanax Lorazepam pills, 20 Suboxon pills and 13 Cycolbenzaprine pills, which is a muscle relaxant. Nine bags of cocaine with a total weight of 63.45 grams and 14 bags of marijuana with a total weight of 170.4 grams were also discovered.
Lombardy did not have a valid prescription for any of the medications.
Three firearms — a .40-caliber Smith and Wesson handgun, a 9mm Taurus handgun and a .223 Bushmaster assault rifle — were also recovered, along with scales, drug paraphernalia and thousands of bags and capsules used to store and pack narcotics, according to the report.
Lombardy was arrested and charged with one count each of traffick cocaine or mixture 28 grams to less than 150 kilograms, traffick opium or derivative 4 grams to under 30 kilograms, possess opium or derivative over 10 grams, possess controlled substance without prescription includes marijuana over 20 grams, possess marijuana with intent to sell manufacture or deliver, destroy tamper with or fabricate evidence and commit third-degree felony with weapon.
All seven charges are felonies.
Lombardy was also charged with one count of possess advertise narcotic equipment drug paraphernalia and one count of drive while license suspended. Both are misdemeanor charges.
According to booking records, Lombardy remained at the Lee County Jail on $115,000 bond Thursday. He has a court date scheduled for Nov. 1.
Lombardy’s girlfriend was not charged in connection to the alleged crimes.
