Fort Myers turned back Cape Coral in both the boys’ and girls’ District 2A-10 swim meets Tuesday night at the Seahawks’ pool.

It is the first defeat of the season for the Cape boys (10-1) and just the second for the girls (9-2).

“The girls fought really hard,” said Seahawks coach Dianne Kimble. “Freshman Monica Jaeger winning the 200 IM was a bonus and our divers finished 1-2 in their first time on the board in competition this season.”

Even though she did not win an event Tuesday night, Mackenzie Greene swam personal-best times in each event.

On the boys’ side, Graham Murza was a double event winner in the 200 IM and 100 backstroke. J.D. Guillard volunteered to take a spot for a teammate that was sick and swam a personal-best time in the 200 IM.

The Seahawks are back in the pool against district foes Ida Baker and Lehigh on Tuesday.
