Prep Report: Knights get season highs in win over Wolfpack
Junior setter Susie McKeever handed out a season-high 36 assists and junior outside hitter Miranda Ashby banged out a season-high 10 kills to lead North Fort Myers to a 25-12, 25-18, 25-8 volleyball victory over South Fort Myers Tuesday night.
The Red Knights also got a team-high 16 kills from junior Jessica Wagner and six more from senior Jessica Petrucci. The Red Knight also served up a total of 12 aces.
The Red Knights (7-9) host Estero Thursday night.
Riverdale 3, Cape Coral 0: Kristi Maselter delivered five kills, three blocks and seven digs as Cape Coral came up short in a 25-11, 25-12, 25-21 loss to Riverdale.
Alison Harper added four kills for the Seahawks while Erica Hoegler contributed two kills, one block and four digs and Emily Snyder handed out seven assists.
The Seahawks (2-12) play again Thursday at Mariner.
Fort Myers 3, Ida Baker 0: Good play came in waves but not frequently enough for the Ida Baker Bulldogs in Tuesday’s 25-8, 25-8, 25-15 loss to District 4A-11 powerhouse Fort Myers.
Payton Van Horn led the Bulldogs with four kills and eight digs, Kali Nordquist added four kills and Madison Kobs handed out 14 assists.
The Bulldogs (5-8, 2-5 district) host Lemon Bay Thursday night.
First Baptist 3, Oasis 1: Oasis won the first game, but dropped the next three to fall to First Baptist Academy of Naples 19-25, 25-15, 25-14, 25-12 Tuesday night.
Emma Nelson led the Sharks with eight kills and 22 digs. The Sharks (1-9) host Community Christian of Port Charlotte Thursday night.
Boys Golf
At Royal Tee: Ida Baker’s players managed to beat the challenging breezy conditions Tuesday to register victories over Cape Coral and Lehigh.
Dylan Fine finished his nine-hole round with his second birdie of the day to post the match’s low round of 1-under 35 and lead the Bulldogs to a team total of 156. Fine had help from Anthony Myers, who closed with two birdies to score 39.
Cape Coral broke 200 for the first time this season, led by Anthony Lawrence’s team low of 39 as the Seahawks totaled 198.
“We’ve improved more than 40 strokes since the first match,” said Seahawks coach Bob Plageman.
Lehigh carded a team total of 240 behind a pair of 48s by Max Schashinger and Brad Muchler.
Both Cape (4-6) and Baker (11-2) are in action again Thursday along with Island Coast, Mariner and North Fort Myers in the North of the River Tournament at Magnolia Landing.

At Coral Oaks: Mariner’s three rounds in the 40s was trumped by Riverdale with four scores of 42 or better Tuesday.
The Raiders’ Tanner Nipper claimed medalist honors with a round of 3-over-par 39 en route to a team total of 165 that beat the Tritons’ 188.
Dean Hofer’s round of 41 was backed by a 46 by John Inkster as the Tritons (7-4) head into Thursday’s North of the River Tournament at Magnolia Landing.

At Eastwood: Georgia Price carded the low round of 39 to lead unbeaten Fort Myers (13-0) to victory Tuesday over North Fort Myers and Dunbar.
Price and three teammates shooting in the 40s combined for a 177 total to North’s 249. Dunbar did not earn a team score with one player.
Brittany Agricola led the Red Knights with a round of 46.
North (4-5) is back on the course Thursday in the North of the River Tournament at Coral Oaks.

At Copperhead: Cape Coral’s Regina Sin scored well enough to earn medalist honors Tuesday with 41, but the Seahawks did not score well enough in a loss to Ida Baker.
Kaitlin Schafe’s 46 and Cathy Wainey’s 47 led the Bulldogs to a team score of 223 to beat the Seahawks’ 246. With one player, Lehigh did not earn a team score.
The Bulldogs (4-2) and the Seahawks are in action again Thursday in the North of the River Tournament at Coral Oaks.

Swimming
At Cape Coral: Cape Coral swept both the boys’ and girls’ tri-meets Tuesday against Ida Baker and Lehigh.
The win improves the Seahawk girls to 9-2 while the boys go to 10-1.
The Seahawk girls posted two personal-best times in winning 11 of the 12 events. Kaitlin Angiletta etched a personal best time of 1:12.69 in winning the 100 breaststroke event. It gave her wins in two events, the other being the 200 freestyle where runner-up Stefanie Leon swam a personal best of 2:29.46.
Monica Jaeger and Michaela Steakley also were winners in two events.
Graham Murza, Tyler Thresher and Nick Keating each won two events to pace the Seahawk boys.
Cape hosts Riverdale on Monday.
