Jean (Jeanette) Pape, 81, died on September 28, 2010. She was was born on February 27, 1929, in Convoy, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Harold and Paula Reidenbach. Pape was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Lehigh Acres, and later Saint Michael Lutheran Church in Fort Myers.
She was a secretary with Schnelker Engineering of Fort Wayne, Ind., for 15 years before moving to the Florida Keys in Islamorada. There she became an aide to the late County Commissioner John Storemont for eight years and then was elevated to director of growth management in Monroe County in the Florida Keys.
She retired with 11 years service in 1996. While living in the Florida Keys she served as an organist for Immanuel Lutheran Church of the Missouri Synod in Taviner, Fla., until moving to Lehigh Acres in 1997.
She married her high school sweetheart Bill in l948 and moved to Fort Wayne, Ind., where she lived for 32 years before moving to the Florida Keys in l982 and to Lehigh Acres in 1997.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Ronald G. Reidenbach.
She is survived by her husband, William; a daughter, Julie Pape-Lang and her husband William, of Fort Myers, and a son, Matthew and his wife Marina Blanco-Pape, of Miami. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Michael Nielsen Jr., Amanda Renee Swain-Williamson and her husband Lyle, Edwin Warren Swain and Kelly Christina Swain, Mari Pape, Marilyn Pape, and Marie Pape, and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Saint Michael Lutheran Church on October 9, 2010 at 4 p.m., preceded by a concert of recorded music by her family an hour before the service. Burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne, Ind., following a memorial service there.
