Special events planned at Alva Community Center
The following are events scheduled at the Alva community Center.
Parents Night Out
You can bring your child to the center. Your child will have a great evening with arts and crafts, short movies, inside activities, table games and much more.
We take care of your children, and you can go out for a great evening with your friends, partner, or just your self.
Friday – October 15, from 6 to 10 p.m.
$5 per participant – ages 7 to 12 years old.
Refreshments include.
Fun Days
Come spend your teacher in-service day having fun with your friends. Day may include activities inside/outside, arts & crafts, short movies, field trip. Call the center for the day’s itinerary. Price does not include field trip cost (when applicable).
Please, bring a bag lunch, morning and afternoon snacks, and wear tennis shoes.
From 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. – ages 6 to 13 years old.
Monday – October 25
Tuesday – October 26
Registration fee: $12 per day per child
3rd Annual Costume Contest/Youth Dance
Dress up in your favorite costume and then come to the Alva Community Center.
Prizes will be award for the scariest, most creative, and cutest costumes.
First 50 children with costume will get a treat bag.
Our DJ will play your music to dance with your friends.
Friday – October 29 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Ages up to 12 years old.
$1 per participant.

Volunteers for the Alva Community Center
Lee County Parks and Recreation officials at the Alva Community Center are looking for volunteers who are 21 years or older.
They need volunteers to help with children’s programs from Monday to Friday from 2:30 to 6 p.m.
It would include such things as arts and crafts, inside/outside games, tutoring, and for special events such as the Third Annual Costume Contest/Youth Dance -October, the Alva Community Annual Yard Sale -November, Cookies with Kris -December, and Fun Days.
