Italian-American Club plans Christmas Dinner, Dance

The Italian American Social Club of Lehigh Acres will hold a Christmas Dinner and Dance on Saturday, Dec. 4 at the Elks Lodge 2602 at 1050 Joel Blvd in Lehigh. Cocktails begin at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. Music and dancing will be with Jim Marino. There will be prizes. Members are $20 and guests are $25. You must make reservations by calling Anna at 239-369-1657.

Lehigh Acres Elks hosts activities

The Elks is a benevolent organization that focuses on youth, community, and veterans. The Lehigh Acre Elks Lodge 2602 at 1050 Joel Blvd. has a number of activities each week for its members, their guests, and for the community as well.

Meals are prepared every Tuesday and Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. and beginning in November on the second and fourth Sunday, a brunch will be offered between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Seasonal dinner dances and community events are scheduled monthly. The Lodge Hall is available for private party rentals, such as wedding receptions, birthday parties, sweet sixteen parties and more.

Scheduled Friday, Oct. 22 is a seafood dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Tuesday, Oct. 26, a Pasta Dinner will be offered from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information call the Elks Lounge at 369-2602.

American Legion plans Hamburger Nights on Thursdays

The American Legion Auxiliary No. 323 at 1124 Ashlar Ave, just behind the Burger King, in Lehigh, will have a Hamburger Night every Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. for $3. On Nov. 13, they will hold a craft show, dinner and a bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Members of the Auxiliary want to remind everyone that lunches are served every day from, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call Maxine Spamer at 239-321-3636.

‘Freaky Friday Fish Night’ planned at Elks

Freaky Friday Fish Night will be held at the Elks Lodge 2602 at 1050 Joel Blvd. on Oct. 29. Come dressed in your Halloween costume. For the contest and games following dinner. There will be drink special, dinner served from 5 to 7 p.m. in the lounge. No reservations are needed but can be made for groups. Call 369-2602 to make reservations. Bicyclists invited to join club

The Lehigh Acres Bicycle Social Club meets the second Monday of each month from September through May at 9 at a.m. at the East Lee County Regional Library on Gunnery Rd. The group holds an outing once a month.

Bikers meet on Mondays and Fridays at the Community Park on Williams St. and Lee Blvd at 8 .m. The group is recruiting new members and invite all who are interesting biking. For more information, call Harold Cope at 239-369-4583 or Russ Carmichael at 239-657-4450.

Baseball, softball clinics to begin Nov. 1

Fall clinics for both baseball and softball will begin Nov. 1 and continue through Dec. 15 in Lehigh. The cost is $15 per child and each child will need to provide their original birth certificate along with three proofs of residency. Registration will be held at William park on Wednesday, Oct. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday, Oct. 30 from 9 a.m. to noon. For more information, contact Larry Campanelli at 239-940-1627.

Luncheon, card party set at St. Anselm’s Church

St. Anselm’s Episcopal Church at Joel Blvd. and 6th St. is holding a luncheon and card party on Wednesday, Oct. 20 from noon to 3 p.m. and the public is invited to attend.

General Women’s Club programs are Oct. 23

The General Women’s Club information call Perlyn of Lehigh Acres will hold its annual luncheon card party and game day on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church, 705 Leeland Heights Blvd. Admittance is $6 and it will benefit the General Women’s Club Scholarship Fund. Kreegel aide to be in Lehigh library

Rep. Paige V. Kreegel (D-72) will have a member of his staff at the East County Regional Library on Thursday, Oct. 28 to answer questions about any state related issues that local citizens may have. Lehigh Relay golf tourney set Oct. 30

The Lehigh Relay for Life is gearing up for a golf tournament to be held at Copperhead Golf Course on Oct. 30 in Lehigh. Benefits go to the American Cancer Society to help fight cancer.

The entry fee is $55 and includes gift bag, lunch and prizes.

There will be a “long drive” for both men and women, “putting and hole-in-one” contests. Teams can include four men or four women or two men and two women, Registration begins at 7 a.m. with the Four Ball Scramble starting at 8 a.m.
