Death in Buckingham called a homicide
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office today said that on Wednesday, October 20, deputies were called to 11500 Luckett Road Extension just outside Lehigh in the Buckingham area. When deputies arrived, they discovered a deceased male on the side of the road near a stop sign.
Deputies determined the death was not of natural circumstances and turned the case over to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit.
MCU detectives have determined the case is a homicide and identified the victim as Larrick Sikes, 37. The investigation reveals that Sikes was last seen alive at approximately 9 p.m. on October 19 in the Orange River Blvd. area of Buckingham, according to Sheriff’s spokesman Tony Schall.
The cause of death is not being released at this time.
