After taking a 1-0 lead just six minutes into the game, the No. 21 FGCU men’s soccer team suffered its first loss in over a month as FAU rallied to defeat the Eagles 2-1 Tuesday night in a non-conference match at the FGCU Soccer Complex.

The loss snaps the Eagles’ program-best eight-game win streak and a 10-game unbeaten streak (8-0-2).

The Eagles (10-3-2), were prevented from finding the back of the net over the final 20 minutes of the game, but led the shots-on-goal count 9-8.

FGCU now turns its attention to Friday’s crucial Atlantic Sun Conference showdown against Stetson (8-3-1).
