Long-range transportation plans for county topic of meeting

By Staff | Oct 29, 2010

The topic to be discussed at the November meeting of the League of Women Voters of Lee County is Long-Range Transportation Plans for Lee County.

The meeting is Saturday, Nov. 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Royal Palm Yacht Club at 2360 West First Street in Fort Myers.

Don Scott, southwest Florida Regional Planning Council, will describe Lee County’s 2035 long-range plan and give an overview of the Colonial Flyover project, currently put on hold by the county commissioners. Residents of Lee County should be especially interested in view of the traffic problems they encounter, League officials said.

To attend this event, reservations are required; call 466-8381.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages citizens to be informed and to actively participate in government.
