Ruth Adams
Ruth “Genny” Adams, 88, died on Oct. 29, 2010 at Lehigh Acres Hope Hospice. She was born on Feb. 2, 1922 in Oneida, Ill., to Vern and Ruth Holmes. She married William Adams on Dec. 21, 1943.
Her husband preceded her in death by four years.
She was active in Oneida Methodist Church, in the Oneida Women’s Organizations, and a correspondent for the Wrova reporter of the Galva News. After moving to Florida in 1997, she became a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Lehigh Acres.
Adams is survived by two daughters and their families: Vicki (Jon) Kehl and Pam (Al) Schoellermann both of Lehigh Acres; three granddaughters, one step grandson, and three great grandchildren.
The family said they wanted to thank Hope Hospice for its five-star care as they cared for Adams for more than a year in her home. They offered special thanks to Cossette, Jasmine, Mary, Chaplain Chuck and many others for allowing her to die with great care and dignity.
