Lehigh man on motorcycle killed in crash
A Lehigh Acres man, identified by the Florida Highway Parol as William Anthony Calloway, 48, died in a crash at SR82 and Jaguar Blvd. Sunday night in Lehigh. The crash also left three people injured, police say.
A passenger on the motorcycle, who was ejected during the crash was identified as Geraldine Gree, 50, also of Lehigh. She was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital where she is listed today in critical condition.
Calloway failed to slow down behind a vehicle driven by Elizabeth Irene Blocker, 16, of Immokalee and she had slowed down for traffic, according to the Florida Highway Police. The motorcyclist, Calloway struck the rear of Blocker’s car causing his bike to overturn.
Police said it was struck by a third vehicle which was being driven by David L. Hurt, 68, of Port Charlotte.
A passenger in the Blocker vehicle, Justin Curtis cook, 22, of Immokalee were not hurt. Neither was locker injured, the report stated.
The driver of the third vehicle, Hurt received minor injuries. Karen M. Hurt, 67, a passenger in his vehicle was seriously injured and taken to Lehigh Regional. Both were wearing seat belts. According to the report, Calloway died on the scene of the crash.
