By Staff | Nov 24, 2010

The Fort Myers Miracle open their 20th season in Southwest Florida in 134 days with a two-game series in Jupiter on April 7-8, according to their 2011 Florida State League schedule released Tuesday.

The Miracle’s first game at Hammond Stadium is April 9 at 7:05 p.m. when they host the Hammerheads. Special pregame activities and ceremonies are planned along with a spectacular postgame fireworks show.

The 2011 campaign features a new non-fireworks Saturday start time, the return of a popular summertime event and the unveiling of a new logo and uniforms.

“We are eagerly anticipating the upcoming season of baseball here in Southwest Florida,” said Miracle General Manager Steve Gliner. “Our schedule allows us to continue to create that buzz around the ballpark that is synonymous with Miracle Baseball.”

Six fireworks shows light up the schedule, including two on Independence Day weekend and a new non-fireworks Saturday night start time of 6:05 p.m.

Hammond Stadium will turn into a large water park for kids on July 27, with the return of Big Splash.

The Miracle’s season is a split schedule consisting of 140 games, with two 70 game halves. The league’s annual All-Star Game is set for Clearwater on June 18. The Miracle conclude the season on Sept. 4 at Jupiter.
