Lehigh man killed in early morning crash
A crash that claimed the life of a Lehigh Acres man Sunday morning is being investigated today and the Fort Myers Police Department is asking if anyone witnessed the single-vehicle crash.
Dead in the crash was Andre Thomas, 18, who was thrown from the car. The other occupant, Leroy Bass, 31, of Fort Myers remained inside the Chevy Malibu which was headed south on Veronica Shoemaker Blvd. when the driver’s side tires jump over the curb onto the median strip. Police said the driver over corrected the vehicle which flipped over several times.
The accident occurred at about 3:58 a.m. Sunday, police said.
Both men were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital where Thomas was pronounced dead. Bass was admitted for his injuries.
