Perhaps the last team to make their season debut, the Mariner Tritons overwhelmed the Estero Wildcats 65-24 Tuesday night.

The Tritons started with a bang, storming to a huge lead in the first quarter and a whopping 39-12 by halftime.

“We were able to maintain the tempo and won each quarter,” said Tritons coach James Harris.

Sam Guerrier garnered a game-high 19 points to lead the Tritons, who got seven points and eight rebounds from Kendrec Ferrara.

The Tritons (1-0) visit Island Coast Wednesday night.

Tim Dal Bon led the Gators with 16 points while Terrell Griffin added 13 points, 10 rebounds and five steals and Greg Orellana added 12 points.

The Gators (3-2, 1-1) host Mariner Wednesday.

Ida Baker 3, South Fort Myers 0: Amber Hutchinson’s first-half goal was all Baker needed in a shutout victory at South Fort Myers Tuesday.

Shannon Pearl and Autumn Yesh tacked on insurance goals in the second half while Carole Farella made four saves in goal to preserve the shutout.

The Bulldogs (8-2-1) host Estero Friday.

North Fort Myers 5, Fort Myers 2: Three goals by Melinda Lukas and two by Darian Leschewski carried North Fort Myers to a District 4A-11 victory at Fort Myers Tuesday.

Casey Gentile, Tina Agostinelli and Hannah Hamilton had assists for the Red Knights. Goalkeeper Brianna Abatisti made 11 saves to record the victory.

The Red Knights (6-0-1; 2-0-1 district) are in action again Friday at Riverdale.

Estero 3, Mariner 0: Estero handed Mariner its first District 4A-11 defeat Tuesday.

Sam Greenwell made six saves in goal for the Tritons (5-2, 2-1 district), who host Cypress Lake Friday.

Cape Coral 5, Lemon Bay 0: Christina Hunt and Carina Powell scored two goals apiece to lead Cape Coral to a District 4A-11 victory Tuesday.

Mallory Gerrero added one goal and goalkeeper Amanda Kopale made seven saves to preserve the shutout.

The Seahawks host East Lee County Thursday.

Gateway Charter 8, Island Coast 0: Island Coast lost its first District 3A-12 game Tuesday by a shutout at Gateway.

Goalkeeper Hayley Hood made 15 saves for the Gators (1-6, 1-1), who face LaBelle Monday.

Alyssa Dodson had four points to top the Tritons (1-8), who host Island Coast Wednesday.

Ida Baker 62, South Fort Myers 31: Shanelly Brown and Hannah Del Negro combined for 36 points to outscore South Fort Myers by themselves and lead Ida Baker to their first District 4A-11 victory Tuesday.

Baker dominated on the boards with 29 rebounds and made 10 steals.

The Bulldogs (4-4, 1-0) host Estero at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Ron Lind, Ben Feakins, Juan Cano and Olivier Benedict each added one goal. Caio Amaral, Paolo Acosta, and Cano were credited with assists.

The Seahawks (8-0, 1-0) play at East Lee County Thursday.

Mariner 2, Estero 0: Goals by Juan Rincon and Isiah Romano lifted Mariner to victory over Estero Tuesday.

Tyler Till and Josh Teeter had assists while Matt Brust recorded seven saves in goal to post his fourth shutout.

The Tritons (6-3) play at Cypress Lake Friday.

South Fort Myers 3, Ida Baker 0: Ida Baker suffered a shutout loss to South Fort Myers despite playing well.
