Elizabeth Brandrich, 14, was just completing the class assignment in her eighth-grade art class.

Never did the Diplomat Middle School student think her design would be selected the winner of the Fort Myers Miracle Holiday Card contest.

“I was really surprised to win this honor. I just drew what I thought the card should be,” said Brandrich.

Her design graces the front of the card that is sent to friends and partners of the Miracle and was nominated from nearly 100 entries submitted.

The contest was open to students in grades K-8 to help promote artistic creativity.

“I like going to Miracle games and can’t wait for the season to start again,” said Brandrich, a Cape Coral resident.

She will be honored prior to the Miracle’s April 10 home opener.
