Christmas music to be featured at Dec. 19 Lehigh concert
The Lehigh Concert Band will present a seasonal musical program at 3 p.m. on Dec. 19 at the Faith Lutheran Church at 705 E. Leeland Heights Blvd.
The concert is free as are future programs on January 16, Feb. 20, and March 20. The December concert will feature all the Christmas favorites and a large crowd is expected to attend.
The concert on Jan. 16 will feature a program for the public to meet sponsors of the Concert Band and the musicians themselves. On Feb. 20, the concert will celebrate Valentine’s Day and on March 20, the Lehigh Concert Band will feature a show they are calling Potpourri.
Santa to be at Kiwanis Thrift Store on Dec. 18
Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be at the Lehigh Acres Kiwanis Family Thrift Store on Saturday, Dec. 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In addition the Kiwanis store at 15 Homestead Rd. S. in Lehigh is offering 10 percent off all furniture and if you buy pone piece of clothing, you get the next one free of the same value. These promotions continued until Dec. 24.
The Kiwanis Family Thrift Store has new Sunday hours beginning Jan. 2 of 2011. The store will be open seven days a week. On Jan. 2, the Kiwanis will hold a customer appreciation day with free hot dogs and drinks for all who visit.
County Club Association to meet in January
The Country Club Association will not hold its regular monthly meeting on December 19. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held on January 16, which is the third Monday at the First Congregational Church. A speaker and refreshments will be provided, according to spokeswoman Bobbie Slanker.
American Legion to hold Christmas party
The American Legion Post 323 will have a Christmas party for on Dec. 18 from 7:30 to 11 p.m. The band at the event will be Dead Letter Society. Members and their guests are welcome. Admission is free. Hors d’oeuvres will be served.
All Saints Byzantine Church to hold Ethnic Bake Sale
All Saints Byzantine Catholic Church at 10291 Bayshore Rd. in North Fort Myers will have its annual Ethnic Bake Sale on Saturday, Dec. 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be breads, Pirohi, nut and poppyseed rolls, Slovak Kifli, nut and apricot horns and stuffed cabbage for sale. The church is off I-75 at Exit 143, toward the Lee County Civic Center, said Mariann Gaydos, chairman of the All Saints Guild.
