The Lehigh Acres Relay for Life committee held its first Team Party for the 2011 event on Dec. 6 at the Microtel Hotel on Business Way in Lehigh.

Former and current cancer patients, who have lost a loved one to cancer, families, businesses, faith-based and civic organizations, and anyone wanting to make a difference in the fight against cancer are invited to take part in the Relay for Life.

Team parties will take place monthly leading up to the overnight Relay for Life that is scheduled for April 16-17 at Veterans Park Academy.

The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Lehigh Acres is presented by Lehigh Regional Medical Center and gives everyone in the community a chance to help the organization save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
