Don’t forget free Christmas Day Dinner in Lehigh

By Staff | Dec 25, 2010

Don’t forget the free Christmas Day dinner being offered by the Rotary Club of Lehigh Acres at the Parish Hall on the grounds of St. Rafael’s Catholic Church, across from Walmart in Lehigh Acres.

Mike Buff, who heads the project for the Rotary said the dinner will begin at 10 a.m. and last until around 2 p.m.

Everyone in Lehigh Acres is invited to attend.

The Rotary held a free Thanksgiving Dinner and more than 500 people turned out for the festivities.

“We need volunteers. Come early and eat and ask for me and I will show you what you can do to help us,” Buff said.

The menus will consist of turkey and the trimmings and ham and all sorts of vegetables and desserts.

Buff said the free Community Christmas Dinner has also become a tradition for many, including families and friends who meet to socialize and have dinner.

“The dinner is for everyone, no charge,” Buff said

“We do have a wishing well at the entrance for anyone who wants to help, but that is not a necessity. The dinner is absolutely free and we hope a large amount of people will bring their families and join us on Christmas Day,” Buff said.
