Sheriff’s Office investigating New Year’s Eve bank robbery
The Lee County Sheriff’s office said that today, Friday, at around 9:49 a.m., deputies responded to the RBC Bank, located at 16740 San Carlos Blvd., Fort Myers, to investigate a bank robbery.
When deputies arrived on scene, they learned from victims and witnesses that a light skinned black male entered the bank and displayed a weapon. The suspect approached a teller, took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the bank on foot. No injuries occurred during the robbery, invetigators said.
Detectives with the Robbery Unit conducted the investigation. Members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Aviation and K9 Units also responded to assist in the investigation.
