Altar, Rosary Society has bingo, card party on Jan. 19

St. Raphael Altar and Rosary Society has scheduled a bingo and card party for Wednesday, Jan. 19 from noon to 3 p.m. for a donation of $6.

A light lunch, tea or coffee will be served. You must bring your own playing cards or games and make up your tables.

There will be prizes and raffles. Tickets are available from members or Chairperson Jean Castaldi at 239-209-8945, said Smiley K. Walder, president of the Society.

Democratic Women to meet Jan. 8

The Democratic Women’s Club (DWC) will hold its monthly meeting Saturday, January 8, at the Royal Palm Yacht Club, 2360 West First Street, Fort Myers (from McGregor Blvd., turn toward the river on West First Street, one block north of the Edison and Ford Estates). The speaker will be J. Maggie Stevens, coordinator of the Early Childhood Learning Services. She will discuss the latest projects being planned for the Lee County Head Start Program. The luncheon meeting is 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The luncheon price is $18. Guests are welcome.

American Legion to hold seafood dinner on Jan. 7

The American Legion Post 323 will hold a seafood dinner on Jan. 7 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. for $12 at its post on Ashlar Ave. The Auxiliary will hold a fashion show on Jan. 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch is $5. Lunches and Sunday brunch have been discontinued. There is a Hamburger Night every Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.

County Club Association to meet in January

The Country Club Association did not hold its regular monthly meeting on December 19. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held on January 16, which is the third Monday at the First Congregational Church. A speaker and refreshments will be provided, according to spokeswoman Bobbie Slanker.

Canada Club resumes meeting in Lehigh

The Canada Club of Lehigh Acres meets the first Sunday of each month at the Faith Lutheran Church at 705 Leeland Heights Blvd. in Lehigh from 4 to 7 p.m. A pot luck dinner should be brought to share and will be held prior to the meeting.
