FGCU games canceled by bad weather
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – With several inches of snow falling overnight and more snow and ice forecasted for Monday, Florida Gulf Coast men’s and women’s Atlantic Sun basketball doubleheader at USC Upstate was cancelled.
A makeup date has not been set.
Scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. with FGCU’s undefeated women’s program (12-0, 5-0) taking on second-place Upstate (7-6, 4-1), the winter weather conditions made it unsafe for game officials, event staff and fans to get to the Hodge Center. The men’s game was slated to start at 7:30 p.m., or 30 minutes after the women’s game.
The FGCU men (3-11, 0-5) return to action at 7:05 p.m. Friday against Kennesaw State at Alico Arena. The women put their unblemished mark on the line at 7:05 p.m. Saturday against Kennesaw State.
The pair of games is the start of four home games in four days at Alico Arena.
