The Lee County Sheriff’s Office today said that on December 14, 2010, deputies were notified of a burglary that occurred at 2403 Ansel Avenue, Lehigh Acres. The victim informed deputies he had been inside the home receiving a massage when his car was broken into while parked outside. A handgun, gold ring, cash and a credit card were stolen, investigators said.

Within days of the incident, detectives assigned to the case were able to identify a possible suspect who used the victim’s credit card at a local Publix pharmacy. That suspect was located and arrested for driving on a suspended license, investigators said. Information obtained through the course of the investigation shed light on additional criminal activity occurring at the Ansel Avenue residence, they said.

Detectives conducted surveillance on the home and found a second victim of theft and unauthorized credit card usage. In each incident, the victims were inside the home receiving “massages” while one of the home’s occupants broke into the victim’s car as it was parked outside, investigators said.

On January 6, detectives and members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Unit executed a search warrant on the home.
