General Women’s Club to celebrate 50th anniversary

The General Women’s Club of Lehigh Acres will celebrate their 50th anniversary at their January meeting at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 21 at the Faith Lutheran Church on Leeland Heights Blvd.

The program will be presented by Denise Kelley from Boutique on Wheels. She will have cruise, resort and casual wear along with jewelry and accessories. Also, a Silent Auction will be held at their February meeting, according to Linda Saul of the club.

Scouts to serve spaghetti dinner, host free movie Friday night

Cub Scout Pack 11 will serve spaghetti, salad and beverages from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Christ United Methodist Church Friday, Jan. 21.. Cost is $5 per person. At 7 p.m. the free movie “Amazing Grace” will be shown in the Fellowship Hall at Christ United Methodist Church. Enjoy both or come for just the dinner or just the movie.

Land development codes workshop set next month

The next Lehigh Acres Land Development Codes Workshop will be held on Saturday, February 26, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. The meeting will be located at the East Lee County Regional Library, 881 Gunnery Road North in Lehigh Acres. The focus of the meeting will be to review draft LDC language, said Janet Miller, an administrative assistant with the DCD Administration of Lee County.

Elks plans Winter Wonderland Dinner, Dance Jan. 22

The Lehigh Acres Elks Lodge 2602 has announced a Winter Wonderland Dinner and Dance to be held Saturday, Jan. 22 at the Elks Lodge at 1050 Joel Blvd. The menu includes chicken cordon blue and music will be provided by David Gary. Tickets must be purchased in advance for planning The cost is $15. No tickets will be sold at the door.

In addition, the Elks have announced that they will begin holding their Sunday brunches again beginning Feb. 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lodge at 1050 Joel Blvd. The brunch will continue every Sunday and the cost is $6 per person.

St. Raphael Altar Society to hold bingo, card party

St. Raphael Altar and rosary Society will hold a bingo and card party on January 19 from noon to 3 p.m. with a donation of $6. A light lunch, tea or coffee will be served. Bring your own playing cards or games and make up your tables. There will be prizes and raffles. Tickets are available from members or Chairperson Jean Castaldi at 239-8945.

Elks to hold Texas Hold’em Poker Night on Jan. 19

The Lehigh Elks Lodge 2602 on Joel Blvd. will hold a Texas Hold’em Poker night on Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. The public is invited. The cost to get in is $15 per person, said Quinn Jerriey of the Elks Lodge.

Canada Club resumes meeting in Lehigh

The Canada Club of Lehigh Acres meets the first Sunday of each month at the Faith Lutheran Church at 705 Leeland Heights Blvd. in Lehigh from 4 to 7 p.m. A pot luck dinner should be brought to share and will be held prior to the meeting. Bring your own place setting. For more information, call Vickie Caetano at 369-8956. The meetings will be held every week including the month of March, says Dorothy Ludwig, the organization’s corresponding secretary.

Zumba fitness planned

Every Monday and Wednesday at the Olga Community Center from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Monthly fee, $25 per participant, walk in $5 per participant are welcome.
