Does Connie Mack ever visit his district?
To The Editor:
Most the nation is sad over the recent shootings in Arizona and the deaths of at least six people and the near death of Congresswoman Giffords.
Our own Rep. Connie Mack voiced his sadness on your LehighAcresCitizen.com Internet site a few days after it happened.
While we agree with Rep. Mack about the horrible things done by the suspect, Jared Loughner, one thing worries me.
Mack says he will continue to stay in touch with his constituents.
If anyone has seen Connie Mack in Lehigh Acres ever talking to his constituents, would you please answer in the Letters to the Editor?
In fact, if you know the last time Mack came back to this district to speak to anyone, except when he did as little campaigning as he could, let us all know.
At least, Congresswoman Giffords was doing what most congress people should be doing and that is meeting with their constituents.
I have never seen Congressman Mack in Lehigh talking to anyone and I have never read of any type of “Come and talk to your congressman because I am interested in what you have to say” session here.
I see from time to time seen where State Representative Rep. Kreegel sends an aide probably monthly to Lehigh to listen to constituents’ thoughts on state issues.
But never has Mack nor any aide come to Lehigh as far as I know. Why does he spend most of his off time in California? Oh, I forgot, he moved from the east coast of Florida to Southwest Florida just so he could run for Congress and counted on his last name to make it happen.
Then he divorces his wife, and ends up marrying a congresswoman in California, the widow of Rep. Sonny Bono, and as far as we know, has moved to California. We know by his votes that he is against anything the Democrats are for and we know he has no interest in a national health bill to help the millions of people in this country who are not insured because they can’t afford health insurance. I doubt that he has ever read the health reform bill and I will bet you that he calls it the “Obamacare” program, as an affront to our President.
I guess we’ll see him at the next election and if he runs for the Senate, many of us hope he will lose because he thinks he knows what is better for us than we do ourselves. We have good local politicians in the county who should be serving us in Congress, not Mr. Distance Mack.
