By Staff | Jan 23, 2011

A Lehigh Acres woman became one of three new members to be sworn in this month to the Lee Memorial Health System’s elected Board of Directors.

Diane Champion won out over incumbents Frank LaRosa and Dawson McDaniel in the November 2 general election. She will serve for four years along with the other three.

One-time Lee County EMS Chief Chris Hansen and retired businessman Donald Brown took over the unexpired term of former board member Jason Moon. Richard Akin and Nancy McGovern won reelection in November

They were all sworn in by Lee County Circuit Judge John Carlin following a three-hour orientation.

The board which consists of 10 members helps to oversee much of the health system’s business and okays the system’s billion dollar annual budget.

Lehigh Regional Medical Center is not a part of Lee County Health Systems which oversees 95 percent of the county’s hospital beds in Fort Myers and Cape Coral.
