Elks to resume Sunday Brunch

The Lehigh Acres Elks Lodge 2602 will resume its Sunday Brunch again. It begins Sunday, Feb. 6 at 1050 Joel Blvd and will be held every Sunday. The cost is $6 per person, said Kathryn Pierson, who handles publicity.

American Legion to tell story of ‘Four Chaplains’

The American Legion Post 323 at 1124 Ashlar Ave. in Lehigh Acres will present the program “Four Chaplains” on Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. Hors d’oeurves will be served.

A spokesperson for the event said they will honor “The Four Chaplains” that paid the ultimate price, giving their life jackets to others thus choosing to go down with the USAT Dorchester, in the icy Atlantic Ocean on Feb. 3 in 1943.

“Join the members of Post 323 as they tell the story of these wonderful men,” the spokesperson said.

Pirohi Dinner planned for Feb. 5

The All Saints Byzantine Catholic Church at 10291 Bayshore Rd. in North Fort Myers will have its annual Ethnic Pirohi Dinner on Saturday, Feb. 5 from 3 to 7 p.m.

Mariann Gaydos, chairman of the All Saints Guild said the dinner will include Pirohi, vegetables, stuffed cabbage, salad, dessert of the choice, coffee or tea, all of $10.

The church is located on Bayshore Rd., Exit 143 east of I-75 toward the Lee Civic Center.

Lady Elks to hold Winter Card Party

The Ladies of the Elks Lodge 2602 oat 1050 Joel Blvd. in Lehigh Acres will hold their annual Winter Card Party on Feb. 8.

It will be held from noon to 3 p.m. with a $5 luncheon included. Tickets are available at the door.

Two free seminars planned by LRMC

A free seminar “Your Weight Loss Options” will be held by Dr. Martin Barrios and Dr. Peter Denk at 11 a.m. on Feb. 12 and again on Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. at Lehigh Regional Medical Center. Call 239-368-0241 for more information.

It’s Pasta Night at the Elks

The Elks Lodge at 1050 Joel Blvd. in Lehigh will serve lasagna with meat sauce for $8.50; chicken Francese with vegetables and side and salad for $9.75. Coffee and tea will be available. There will be a live accordion serenade by “Maria” during dinner. Reservations are not needed but requested. For groups, call the Elks at 369-2602 ahead of time so they can prepare for everyone, said Kathryn Pierson, the publicity chairman for the Elks.

Land development codes workshop set this month

The next Lehigh Acres Land Development Codes Workshop will be held on Saturday, February 26, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. The meeting will be located at the East Lee County Regional Library, 881 Gunnery Road North in Lehigh Acres. The focus of the meeting will be to review draft LDC language, said Janet Miller, an administrative assistant with the DCD Administration of Lee County.

Canada Club resumes meeting in Lehigh

The Canada Club of Lehigh Acres meets the first Sunday of each month at the Faith Lutheran Church at 705 Leeland Heights Blvd. in Lehigh from 4 to 7 p.m. A pot luck dinner should be brought to share and will be held prior to the meeting. The meetings will be held every week including the month of March, says Dorothy Ludwig, the organization’s corresponding secretary.
