Fort Myers Miracle trainer Larry Bennese has been promoted to the Minnesota Twins’ Double-A affiliate at New Britain, the parent club announced Tuesday. Chris Johnson has been named the new Miracle trainer.

Bennese has been with the Miracle for 12 years and will begin his 17th season in the Twins organization this spring.

The Penn State University graduate and five-time recipient of the Florida State League Trainer of the Year joins former Miracle Manager Jeff Smith with the Rock Cats.

Johnson spent four years as trainer for the Gulf Coast League Twins and recently filled in for Beloit in 2009. Last season he was a rehab trainer for the Twins in Minnesota.
