Prep Report: Verot runs over Cape 68-36
A woeful start doomed the Cape Coral Seahawks to a 68-36 defeat Tuesday night at Bishop Verot.
Verot’s 26-5 run in the second quarter was too much for the Seahawks to overcome and sealed the victory for the Vikings (17-7).
Nate Howard hit a game-high 20 points to lead the Vikings. Ricky Doyle added 13 points and eight rebounds while Mason Taylor added 11 points.
“We played with a lot of intensity,” said Vikings coach Matt Herting. “We played as a unit tonight. I just hope this gives us some momentum to take into the big game Saturday night.”
The Vikings host Fort Myers at 7:30 p.m.
Only David Flynn hit double figures for the Seahawks with 11 points.
The Seahawks (12-11) host Gateway Charter Friday night.
