Ryan Rothenbusch, a senior at Lehigh Senior High School Center for the Arts, was recently honored with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Florida Department of Education during the (IDEA) Individuals with Disabilities Education Act 35th Anniversary Celebration.

Rothenbusch has worked successfully with the on- and off campus work experience program for the last three years.

During the 2009-2010 school year, he was assigned to train at the Publix on Colonial and Six Mile Cypress. The store manager saw that Ryan had a great attitude and work ethic, school principal Jeff Spirio said.

Although the manager was not hiring at the time, Rothenbusch was the type of individual that was wanted in the store and he offered the student a position. He accepted and has been successfully employed with Publix since August 2010.
