Two arrested on Interstate, charged with possession of forged credit card
Two Miami men are facing charges today after they were stopped on I-75 Thursday and changed with one count of possession of a forged/counterfeit credit card.
According to a Sheriff’s report, they were called on Thursday at around 8:15 p.m. to a traffic stop near mile marker 143 on a vehicle for failing to maintain a land and having illegal window tint.
Upon contact, deputies said they could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle and in addition to indicators of criminal activity, a background check on the driver revealed he had prior narcotic related charges.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a computer zip drive containing information from 25 skimmed credit cards, along with a cloned/counterfeit credit card which was imprinted on a gift card, investigators said.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Manual Amador, 48, and Deyvi O’Connor, 33, were arrested and charged with one count of possession of a forged/counterfeit credit card.
The investigation into the compromised credit card accounts is being handled by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Economic Crimes Unit. That investigation is continuing.
Amador’s address is listed as 11755 SW 173rd Terrace, Miami. O’Connor’s address is listed as 12242 SW 200 Terrace, Miami.
