Veterans park Academy to hold yard Sale Feb. 26

The PTO at Veterans Park Academy for the Arts and the PTO-Builder’s Club & NJHS are having a yard sale at 49 Homestead Road in Lehigh Acres on Feb. 26 from 8 a.m. to noon.

Tables are available for rental. The cost is $100 per table. Contact John Peters at 303-3003 for reservations for tables, said Stacy Carroll, the president of the PTO.

Elks holding Presidents Day dinner and dance

The Lehigh Acres Elks Lodge 2602 will celebrate Presidents Day with a dinner and dance. It is scheduled Saturday, Feb . 26 at the Lodge at 1050 Joel Blvd. The dinner dance will feature cocktails at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The menu consists of stuffed chicken breast.

Music will be by Chadburns which plays 40s to 60s music. Price per person is $15 and tickets must be purchased in advance.

Land development codes workshop set this month

The next Lehigh Acres Land Development Codes Workshop will be held on Saturday, February 26, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. The meeting will be located at the East Lee County Regional Library, 881 Gunnery Road North in Lehigh Acres. The focus of the meeting will be to review draft LDC language, said Janet Miller, an administrative assistant with the DCD Administration of Lee County.

Canada Club resumes meeting in Lehigh

The Canada Club of Lehigh Acres meets the first Sunday of each month at the Faith Lutheran Church at 705 Leeland Heights Blvd. in Lehigh from 4 to 7 p.m. A pot luck dinner should be brought to share and will be held prior to the meeting. Bring your own place setting. For more information, call Vickie Caetano at 369-8956. The meetings will be held every week including the month of March, says Dorothy Ludwig, the organization’s corresponding secretary.

Students can do community service in cleanups

Residents and students can show pride in their community of Lehigh Acres by participating in the following neighborhood beautification projects.

Community service hours are available on Feb. 26 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and on March 19, from 8:30 to 11 a.m., and on March 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and on April 2 and April 30, from 8:30 to 11 a.m., March 21, 8:30 to 11 a.m.

VFW to feature Karaoke and ‘Elvis’ on Feb. 26

The VFW will feature Karaoke with Columbia Tunes and a guest appearance by “Elvis” at 7 p.m. until closing ion Feb. 26. On March 17 St. Patrick’s Day corned beef and cabbage with rye bread will be served at the post for $5, just a corned beef sandwich is $3 and serving is from 11 a.m. until gone, according to VFW Commander Les Waide
