Punta Gorda Speedway opens its auto racing season Saturday night with the dwarf car Asphalt Winter National feature race.

The track opens Friday for prerace practice and qualifying for Saturday’s feature. Sportsman, pro trucks, rookie trucks, dwarf car, pro 4, fab 4, road warriors and outlaw modified divisions also are on the race program Saturday night.

Pit gates open at 3 p.m. while the grandstand gates open at 5 p.m. The green flag drops on the first race at 6:30 p.m.

Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and children 12 and under are admitted free.
