ADULTS
English Caf
10 a.m. Fridays, March 4, 11, 18, 25
Practice your English with English Cafe, a free, conversation session for
adult ESOL and ESL students. Each 90-minute session provides adult learners an
opportunity to practice speaking English with native speakers. Participants
may start at any time. Advanced registration is not necessary.
Book Discussion: Jodi Picoult’s “Change of Heart”
3:30 p.m. Monday, March 7
June Nealon’s life was shattered when her husband and daughter were murdered.
Now, the murderer wants to donate his heart to June’s other, ailing daughter.
Since he is scheduled for lethal injection, the scenario is not possible.
Further complications arise when he begins performing miracles in full view of
witnesses–including his Catholic spiritual advisor.
Get Wild! Florida’s Fabulous Wildflowers

Lee County Extension Services’ Master Gardener Wendy Sprague will be on hand
to talk about Florida’s fabulous wildflowers. Find out more about one of
southwest Florida’s natural treasures. Registration is required.

Family Storytime
6:30 p.m. Tuesdays, March 15, 22, 29
This program is for the whole family and lasts about 30 minutes.
Toddler Storytime
10 a.m. Wednesdays, March 16, 23, 30
10 a.m. Thursdays, March 17, 24, 31
Children 2 years old and their caregivers participate in song, fingerplays and
short stories. The success of this age group depends on adult participation
and encouragement. Toddler storytime lasts approximately 30 minutes.
Baby-Parent Rhyme Time
10:30 a.m. Monday, March 14
Be prepared to tickle, jump and fly with your baby! These rhymes and songs are
for infants, up to 24 months, accompanied by an adult. This 20-minute program
is filled with songs designed to introduce rhyming and movement to infants.
KIDS
Music Together
11 a.m. Saturday, March 5
Do you want your kids to love music the way that you do? Our friends from
Family Music Time will create a relaxed, playful environment where you and
your kids can share songs, play instruments, and learn rhythm patterns. For
ages 3-5. Registration is required.
Flamingo Fun
2 p.m. Saturday, March 12
Win a prize playing Flamingo Bingo and enjoy flamingo stories and music.
Preschool Storytime
10:30 a.m. Wednesdays, March 16, 23, 30
10:30 a.m. Thursdays, March 17, 24, 31
Preschoolers (ages 3 to 5) attend this storytime independently while parents
or caregivers wait nearby in the library building. This storytime includes
activities that require more participation and a longer attention span. Each
preschool storytime lasts about 30 minutes.
Kids Read Down Fines
3 – 4 p.m. Saturday, March 26
4:30 – 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 30
Children and teens can earn a $2 coupon for every 15 minutes of reading during
the allotted time in the designated area of the library. For ages 18 and
younger. Coupons may be applied to cards issued to patrons age 18 and under
only.
TEENS
East County Anime Club
4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 1
Join a group of teens with an interest in Anime, Manga and other aspects of
Japanese culture. For grades 6-12. Snacks provided by the Friends of the East
County Regional Library. Registration is required.
East County Teens: So You Think You Can Dance?
4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 8
Dance with a group, solo, or improvise. A panel of student judges will choose
the winners and prizes will be awarded. Books on the subjects of choreography,
history, modern and contemporary styles of dance will be available for check
out after the program. Prizes generously donated by the Friends of the East
County Regional Library. For grades 6-12. Registration is required.
