Ida Baker sophomore Sean Brady struck out 13 batters in a complete-game one-hit decision over District 4A-11 rival South Fort Myers Tuesday night.

It extends a streak of quality pitching performances by Bulldogs pitchers, but this time Brady got plenty of offensive support.

Junior Justin Pinto led the Bulldogs’ nine-hit attack with two hits, including a double, and one RBI. Steve Nason and Michael Watson each added two hits as well.

“We played good defense and put a three-piece game together tonight,” said Bulldogs coach Ryan Jackson. “It makes us 2-0 in the district, a good start.”

The Bulldogs (3-4, 2-0) host Palmetto Ridge Wednesday night.

Cape Coral 3, Lemon Bay 0: Mitch Marinack drove in all three runs with a pair of key base hits to send Cape Coral to a District 4A-11 victory at Lemon Bay.

Brad Kopale, Brett Hobaugh and Luke Spangler each added base hits while Cain Spangler had two hits, including the game’s only extra-base hit.

Brandon Marshall tossed a complete-game four-hitter to earn the win.

The Seahawks (6-1, 3-0 district) host East Lee County Friday night.

Island Coast 6, Dunbar 0: Pablo Matos was sharp once again as Island Coast shut out District 3A-12 rival Dunbar.

Matos (4-0) struck out 11 batters and allowed just one hit through six innings to earn the win.

Ryne Manka clubbed a three-run double in the fourth inning to spark a four-run uprising that was all the Gators needed. Nelson Candelario added two hits.

The Gators (6-1, 1-1 district) play at Fort Myers Thursday night.

Mariner 7, Riverdale 2: Alex Santana unleashed an RBI triple in the sixth inning to cape Mariner’s District 4A-11 victory at Riverdale.

Santana finished the game 4-for-4 and drove in three runs to lead the 14-hit attack. Kevin Cavanagh drove in two runs with a pair of hits and Jason Carmichael went 4-for-4 with three runs scored.

Justin Gubelman (2-1) pitched five innings, allowing four hits and struck out five to pick up the win.

The Tritons (4-2, 1-1 district) host Port Charlotte Thursday night.
