Giving away America a piece at a time
To The Editor:
Outsourcing of jobs for cheap labor. These are American jobs gone from our economy.
Buying of cheap imported products not made in America. This is the reason we no longer have a manufacturing base.
Giving away the whole political structure of our county. The citizens united infamous ruling gave corporations the complete rights as “persons.”
After the above ruling of the Supreme Court, corporations are empowered to ruin this country by buying and owning our political processes.
This ruling will suppress individual rights, precedent law and state rights.
To say the least, the Supreme Court whose number one job is to interpret the U.S. Constitution, is going against the Constitution itself.
The clear intention of the framers, our founding fathers, was to keep corporations out of politics.
Corporations cannot vote but now their abilities to donate unlimited cash will allow them to buy an outcome.
We should remember corporations exist solely to serve stockholders and their bottom line of profitability.
A present 22 states prohibit corporate spending in state elections. In existence at the time of the infamous ruling, a century of congressional law banning corporate funding was the law of the land.
One must now conclude the Supreme Court that is supposed to protect the people’s rights under law has abdicated their role.
Now the current Supreme Court is “legislating from the bench,” not interpreting acts of “legislation from the bench” are going on at many levels of our court system.
So the question to ask is simply, do we still have three branches of government?
There is supposed to be the Executive Branch, the President; the Legislative Branch, the U.S. House and Senate; the Judicial Branch, the U.S. Supreme Court with nine judges five of these judges have the power to give away the country.
