To The Editor:

It is good to see that Rep. Connie Mack is visiting his District and listening to the concerns of his constituents. I have complained that he has not visited often enough. He did come to Lehigh, but he met with a selected few members of the Chamber of Commerce. I would have liked to have seen him hold a public meeting for us who live in Lehigh.

He has met in other areas of the county with the people. But Lehigh has a large population and most of us don’t like to drive to Fort Myers. Mack is a conservative Republican and those he meets at business meetings are more than likely conservative Republicans, too. I would like for him to hear from the common folks who are mostly Democrats. Many don’t have jobs and many have lost their homes. Many of our elderly are living on fixed incomes that have not changed for a few years, yet the cost of living has risen. One example is at the gas pump and another are the prices in the local grocery stores. But thanks for coming to Lee County.
