Robert E. Clark

Robert E. Clark, 84, of Lehigh Acres, formerly of East Moline, Ill, died March 21, 2011 at Hope Hospice in Lehigh. He was born December 19, 1926, in Delta, Iowa, and was the son of the late George and Esther Clark.

During WW II, Clark served in the U.S. Navy. He married Darlene Ballegeer on February 3, 1951 at St. Anne Catholic Church, in East Moline.

He worked at John Deere Plow Works, Moline, Ill., for 36 years, retiring in 1984.

He was a member of St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, Lehigh, and the Lehigh Acres Senior Citizen Center.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Darlene; daughter, Diane St. John (Ronald) of Lehigh Acres; a son, Steven Clark (Kimberley) of Moline, Ill.; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Kaestner of Silvis, Ill., and brothers, James Clark of San Diego, Calif., and Avery (Gene) Clark, of Pink Hill, N.C.

Visitation will be at Van Hoe Funeral Home in East Moline, Ill., on March 24, 2011 from 4 to 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline on March 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, East Moline, Ill.
