Holding legislators accountable

By Staff | Mar 30, 2011

To The Editor:

The 2010 Supreme Court ruling will open a flood of domestic and foreign corporate crash, corrupting our current elections.

What, we the people, should demand is, campaign reform legislation.

Public financing would give all candidates a level playing field.

What’s wrong with Washington, D.C.? There is a ratio of 30 or more lobbyists per “electees” that we send to do the people’s work.

It is the job of the constituents to hold their legislators accountable for each and every vote. Voters should endeavor to understand how new state laws will affect them or others.

Examples, does it affect workers, whether they be union or non-union – all workers’ rights should be held in high esteem as it is the middle class that best represents the American Dream.

Don’t let the dream turn into a myth.
