Identity of woman killed in Lehigh hit-and-run accident sought
The Florida Highway Patrol today said an unidentified woman was walking westbound on 1st St. W. in Lehigh near Ida Avenue between 8 and 11 p.m. Saturday night when she was struck in a hit-and-run accident.
She was thrown about 100 feet as the vehicle left the scene, according to a police report by Trooper Mark Steel, the investigating officer.
He said a passerby discovered the pedestrian’s body and called 911 at around 11:19 p.m.
The body was discovered on the grass shoulder near the driveway of 2914 1st St. W.
