Blacks, whites rejected words of Dr. King
To The Editor:
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a great person who gave his life for freedom. He once said, “a man must not be judged by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character.”
In the last presidential election the Afro-American community rejected the words of Dr. King and voted for Barack Obama because of the color of his skin. They thought they were voting for an Afro American but they were voting for a mulatto.
The Caucasian community, not all of them, also rejected the words of Dr. King. Many would not vote for Barack Obama because of the color of his kin.
It is rare that the Afro American community and the Caucasian community would both reject the worlds of Dr. Martin Luther King and use as the basis for their vote, the color of man’s skin.
