Presbyterian Church holds Easter season worship services The First Presbyterian Church at 60 Bell Blvd. N. in Lehigh will hold Palm Sunday services on April 17 at 10 a.m., Maundy Thursday services at 7 p.m., April 21 at 7 p.m. and on Easter Sunday, April 24 at 10 a.m. On Easer Sunday bring a flower for “The blossoming of the Cross.”


Kreegel representative in Lehigh on April 14

An aide of Rep. Paige V. Kreegel (D-72) will be at the East County Regional Library On April 14 from 10 to 11 a.m. to talk to Kreegel’s constituents regarding any comments of state related problems. Anyone who wants to discuss an issue is invited to attend. The library is at 881 Gunnery Rd. in Lehigh. For any questions, call Cynthia Beckett in Kreegel’s office at 941-575-5820. Do not call the library.

The Elks Lodge in Lehigh will hold a “steak night dinner” at the lodge at 1050 Joel Blvd. on April 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. Price is $9.75 if you call and make reservations. Walk-ins are $11.75 or you may have baked chicken dinner for $7.75. Call Barbara Guido at 770-2497 to RSVP.


Prize-winning poet to speak at writers’ group April 16

Prize-winning Sanibel poet Lorraine A. Vail will address the Gulf Coast Writers on Saturday, April 16 at 10 a.m. The presentation will be at Freedom Hall, Zion Lutheran Church, 7401 Winkler Rd., Fort Myers. Vail has received the 2009 Literary Artist of the Year Award from the Alliance for the Arts, Fort Myers and was a Pushcart Prize nominee. Her poems are published in numerous journals in the U.S. and Canada. Admission $5 non-members, $3 members, first time visitors free. Easter Dinner at Legion for member, guests only

An Easter Dinner is planned for members and their guests only at the American Legion Post 323 on April 24 from 1 to 4 p.m. Price is $8 for adults. The public will not be admitted.

Ethnic Easter Bake Sale is April 16

All Saints Byzantine Catholic Church at 10291 Bayshore Rd. in North Fort Myers will hold its annual Ethnic Easter Bake Sale on Saturday, April 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Featured will be traditional Easter bread, egg and raisin, Pirohi, nut and poppy seed rolls, Slovak Kifli, nut and apricot horns and various assorted breads and cooked stuffed cabbage.

The church is off of Exit 143 on I-75 going toward the Lee Civic Center. Mariann Gaydos is chairman of the All Saints Guild, sponsors of the bake sale.

After Easter dinner, dance planned by Elks

The Leigh Acres Elks Lodge at 1050 Joel Blvd. will hold an “Easter Past dinner and Dance” on Saturday, April 30 at the post. Cocktails are at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. Menu is baked chicken.
