Ralph P. Campogiani Sr.
Ralph P. Campogiani Sr., 93, of Lehigh Acres and formerly of Bradford, Pa., died Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Lehigh Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born January 1, 1918 in Corydon, Pa.
He was the son of the late Nazzarano and Lucia (Pedacchio) Campogiani.
He had been employed by A.Z. Greenberg,
Dresser Manufacturing, owned and operated Campogiani Grocery Store for 25 years and worked for J.C. Penney auto for 10 years.
In the 1960s, he managed teams in the Pony League and the Senior Division of the Little League.
He was a member of the LaStella Lodge in Bradford, Pa., for more than 60 years and was a member of the Italian
Festival committee and volunteered for many years at the festival.
He enjoyed playing boccie and cards at the Lehigh Senior Citizen Center.
He also enjoyed playing cards and Bingo at the Sterling House where he lived his last years.
Campogliani is survived by four children, Beverly (Albert) Cobb, Ralph (Lorrie) Campogiani Jr., Dennis (Kaye) Campogiani and Steven (Anne) Campogiani; nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife of 57 years, Josephine Pascale Campogiani, his second wife of 11 years, Delia Chelli; five sisters and a grandson, Ralph Campogiani III.
Friends may call at the Farley Funeral Home at 1100 Lee Blvd. in Lehigh Acres on Saturday, April 16 from 1 to 5 p.m.
Entombment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery in Braford, Pa.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hope Hospice.
