Bernard Joseph Meehan, 85, of Lehigh Acres, died on April 18, 2011 at the Page Rehabilitation Center in Fort Myers. He was born on May 5, 1925 in Baltimore, Md., and was the son of the late Bernard Joseph and Evelyn Webb (Murphy) Meehan.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was employed as a sheet metal mechanic and welder in the construction industry for many years. He has lived in Lehigh Acres since 1985 moving here from Fallston, Md. He was an avid flea marketer, his family said.
He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Lloyd) Meehan who died in 2006 after 55 years of marriage.
Meehan is survived by his children, Bernard Joseph Meehan III of Baltimore, Md., Bonnie Jane Barlow of Charleston, W.V., Lynn Schneider of Lehigh Acres, Eugene Charles “Buck” Meehan of Lehigh Acres, and Patrick Dennis (Kim) Meehan of Middle River, Md., several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held privately by the family.
