For two decades Mike Greenwell’s has been inviting families to enjoy some free Easter fun, with candy and games and of course, the Easter Bunny.
This year was no different though for some kids, like 15-month-old Trey Clarke, it was the first time they encountered the event.
“This was his first time so he didn’t know what to expect,” said his mother Camilla Clarke. “He took it well, though.”
Trey’s sister Elicia came away from the trail with a basket full of candy. And although the Clarkes didn’t get to see the famed holiday bunny – the line was pretty long – they still had a great time and will be back next year.
“It’s a tradition for our family,” Camilla said. “It’s something great for the community and for the kids.”
Organizer Dana Waters said previously that local animal shelters like the Animal Refuge Center in North Fort Myers benefited from food donations made by families, who then walked Greenwell’s mini-golf course where each hole had candy waiting.
Lynette Shiver and her three children, Amanda, 9, Amber, 8, Stephen, 6 all got the chance to see the Easter Bunny.
Shiver said it took about an hour to make through the entire golf course.
“It’s been a lot of fun. And the weather hasn’t been too hot,” Shiver added.
Like all the other kids, Chance Alongi went home with a basket full of candy. But for Alongi and his dad Paul, the best part of the was getting a chance to meet the big bunny.
“My favorite part was the Easter Bunny,” he said.
